Paul Adams, 73 of Austin, Texas, the son of Burr and Margaret (Glendenning) Adams, a former Arlington resident died Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Austin.

Paul was born at Hot Springs, SD the son of Burr and Margaret Adams on August 26, 1946. Paul's father was in the military, so life in a military family meant Paul lived in many locations and attended various schools around the world and in the US to include Japan, Washington, Panama, Texas and New Mexico. By the time he finished high school, sometimes staying at one location for as little as a year and as long as three years, Paul attended six different schools and lived in eight different houses since he started first grade.

Paul attended SDSU and participated in ROTC. Following graduation in January of 1969 with a degree in journalism, he was commission as a 2nd LT, Paul served two years of active duty at Fort Sill, OK and Seoul, Korea.

After his tour in Korea, Paul left active duty to attend Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. He also joined the Army Reserve in 1971. He completed his 22 year career, both active duty and Reserve in 1993. His first two jobs in 1974 to 1978 were with newspaper in North Carolina and Florida as a staff photographer.

Paul began his career in federal civil service in 1978 working for the Army Reserve as a public affairs specialist. He was assigned to the Army Reserve Command in Birmingham, AL and Arlanta, GA. He retired in 2011 with 33 years of federal civil service.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Regan Blair Adams DeMarines and her husband John. One grandchild Lily Blair all of Austin, TX.

Paul will be buried next to his parents in the Arlington City Cemetery, Arlington, SD with Military Honors on Monday, May 11, 2020.
