Darrell Jennings, 84 of Decatur City, Iowa died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton, with military rites by the John B. Parks Post #8882 of Afton. Pastor Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. There will not be a visitation held. Powers Funeral Home in Afton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are to be established.

Darrell Eugene Jennings was born November 3, 1928 in Clarke County, Iowa to Grace Irene (Beaman) and Carl Jennings. He attended school at Murray Community School. He served in the Korean War during the Korean Conflict Infantry. On June 6, 1953 Darrell was united in marriage to Patricia Ann (Cheers) in Papillion, Neb. He was a Supervisor for DNR, starting in Mt. Ayr, then Vinton, Sabula, and Green Island, Ia., where he retired. He then moved to Lineville and Decatur City. Darrell was a member of the Lorimor American Legion Post #96.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Jennings of Decatur City, Ia., one brother, Donald (wife Linda) Jennings of Creston, three sisters Mary Lou Crouse of Council Bluffs, Ia., Earla (husband Kenneth) Clark of Afton and Merlene (husband Clifford) Rynearson of Lorimor and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Jennings and his sister Louetta Klos.
