Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Robyn & son-in-law, Steve Zuber of Downsville, La.; grandchildren, Emily Allen & husband, Phillip of Monroe, La., Andy Taylor & girlfriend, Kattie Read of Farmerville, La., Austin Taylor of Farmerville, La., Juliana Taylor, Landon Taylor and Hadley Youngblood of Downsville, La. and Tayler Hoskins of West Monroe, La.; great-grandchildren, Hayley Allen, Tinzlea Allen, Hudson Allen and Tatum Allen (coming soon) all of Monroe, La.; special son-in-law, Mark Taylor of Farmerville, La.; sisters, Doris Lockwood of Farmerville, La. and Linda Castle of Monroe, La.; brothers, Jimmy Bearden & wife, Rhetta of Charlottesville, Va. and David “Hammer” Bearden of Farmerville, La.; She will also be missed by her special nieces, Rene Smithwick of Farmerville, La. and Julie Castle Fontana of Monroe, La.; special nephews, Barry Lockwood of Farmerville, La., Bradley Castle of Monroe, La. and John Bearden of Albuquerque, N.M.; along with many more nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In addition to her loving family, she will also be missed by her many friends. If there is one thing we have learned from Mom/Nana, it is that family makes the best friends, and friends often become family. There is no greater example of this than her relationship with Priscilla Hawkins and her precious daughter, Mia, who she gladly welcomed into her family.

A graduate of Farmerville High School Class of 1965, Dorothy finished Top 12 with honors. Shortly after finishing school, Dorothy moved abroad to Japan with her first husband, Chris Friis. This is where she met her lifelong friends, Carmy Karch. They stayed in touch, writing letters to each other until social media allowed for an easier connection. Nothing brought more joy to her life than her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lovingly became “Mom” & “Nana” to many others, as well. Some of her favorite pastimes included working crossword puzzles with Robyn and Doris. She also loved to watch Jeopardy and she would always get a kick out of answering Final Jeopardy correctly when all three contestants would be wrong! Sometime around the mid-eighties, she started watching the Chicago Cubs. She was overjoyed to see her Cubbies win the World Series in 2016!! She loved reminiscing about her childhood, telling stories about her and her sister, Linda, how they would go to the movies or to the drugstore for ice cream. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Andy Taylor, Austin Taylor, Phillip Allen, Ray Lockwood, Barry Lockwood and Ferrell Sonnier. Honorary pallbearers will
