She was born February 5, 1957, in Charlotte, a daughter of the late Bryant Austin Russell, Sr. and Shirley Carolyn Mills Russell.
She was a devoted Mom and Grandmother. She enjoyed flowers, reading, traveling, and photography. Mrs. Adams was a devoted member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she volunteered with church activities, especially the “Pumpkin Patch.”
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Dennis Paul Adams; a son Kevin Robert Keziah of Atlanta; two daughters, Angela A. Blakeney and her husband Edrico and Lisa A. Carnes and her husband Chris; five grandchildren, Austin Davis (Kacey), Gretta Davis, Cayleanna Burr, Viktorya Burr and Madison Williams; four great-grandchildren, Gage Davis, Landree Davis, Adrianna Davis and Kasen Brevard; and a sister, Phyllis Russell Norwood (Tommy) of Waxhaw, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild, Elyssa Hope Carnes, a brother, Bryant A. Russell, Jr., and a sister, Carolyn LeFevre.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Adams will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at the graveside at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Trent McLaughlin and Rev. Chris Blackmon officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Antioch Baptist Church – Building Fund, 1734 Antioch Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
