Liese was born in Novo-Nikolayevka (Neu-Nikolaifeld), Trubetskoye, Cherson, Ukraine, the eldest of 5 children born to Peter J. Enns (1897-1977) and Elisabeth Reimer (1899-1992). In 1939 she married Johann H. Janzen (1919-1978) in Neu-Schoensee, Sagradovka, Ukraine. They had 2 children: John (1938-2014) and Elizabeth (1940-2018) Janzen. Separated during the war, Liese fled to Poland in 1943 (Oct) with her family, and from there to Germany in 1945. They immigrated to Canada in 1948 (19 Feb) and settled in Yarrow, BC. She later married her 2nd husband, Kornelius J. Siemens (1906-1995). They had 3 children: Hilda (1950), William (1951-2020) and Arthur (1957) Siemens, born in Chilliwack and Vancouver, BC.
