Cookie graduated from Shelbyville Central High School class of 1955 and received her LPN degree from Bedford County Vocational School. She worked as a nurse for many years. Her profession was a reflection of her caring and loving nature; as a nurse she was employed at the Bedford General Hospital for 23 years and for Dr. Sue Johnson’s office 2 years before she retired due to health related issues. She was a lifelong member of East Side Church of Christ. She loved her family, spending time with her grandchildren and her remaining sister. She read her bible daily and enjoyed watching game shows and westerns on occasion.
Survivors son; Lee (Kay) Adcock of Shelbyville, daughter; Lynette (Phil) Womble; sister, Vivian Thorpe of Shelbyville; brother, Harvey Cook of MI; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Jordon, Molly (Kyle) Garner, Philip (Delanie) Womble and Owen Womble, great grandchildren; Lincoln, Annabelle, Layton, Alyssa, and Wyatt; many nieces and nephews; and close friend and caregiver, Sharon “Rick” Trice of Shelbyville.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the First Choice Pregnancy Center @ www.firstchoicepregnancy.com by mail: 1102 Madison St. Shelbyville, TN 37160, or to a charity of your choice.
The service and graveside will be kept very private for our immediate family. Please understand our reasoning, as we want not another single person to fall ill with this very cruel and contagious illness that took her life so terribly quickly.
Grave side service will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Jeff Curtis officiating.
