He married Mary Brayton August 14, 1737 at Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island and their children were: Abraham, Mary (#70897527), Elizabeth, Isaac, David and Anne. Joseph died at the age of sixty-three May 14, 1776 at Portsmouth and is buried there in the Saint Paul's Cemetery.
