Sam Odom age 80 of Smithville passed away on Friday, January 15 at NHC of Smithville.
Mr. Odom was a retired pastor, farmer, mule skinner and former member of the DeKalb Co. School Board of Education. He was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church.
Mr. Odom was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lee & Mildred Louise Mangum Odom, Sister, Dorothy Jean Gresham, Brother, William Carl Odom and son-in-law, Greg Ray.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years- Billie Ann Odom, 4 Children- Marica Odom Sandlin, Shayne (Jamie) Odom, Jonathan (Sonya) Odom all of Smithville and Amanda Odom Ray of Clarksville, 9 Grandchildren- Ashley Odom Williams, Shandi Sandlin, Josh Odom all of Smithville, Jake Odom of Murfreesboro, Chris Odom of Smithville, Dillion Brown of Nebraska, Grace Odom of Smithville and Nicholas & Allie Ray of Clarksville, Sister- Reba Draiman of FL, Brother- Phillip Odom of Nashville. Also survived by several great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews.
Mr. Odom's wishes were to have a private graveside service with only his immediate family present. There will be no visitation.
