Darren Jackson
July 19, 1965 - December 24, 2020

Darren Allen Jackson, 55 affectionately known as “Stan” to all his family and friends was born on July 19, 1965, to the late Ivy Mae Coleman and Elwood Jackson of West Haven, CT suddenly departed his life on December 24, 2020 at his home.

Stan was educated in the New Haven Public School System and worked various jobs in the New Haven area.

Stan was raised by his late Aunt Cathleen Washington. He was a loving brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, even though he didn’t have any children, he treated all the kids as his own. Especially asking him, “ Uncle Stan take us to the store!”

Stan would do a favor for most anyone, he might mumble first but it will be done. He enjoyed his tv shows: The First 48, The cold case file, Maury and Jeopardy just to make a few: he loved sports and playing spades, and one thing for sure you wouldn’t catch him without a newspaper in his back pocket:

We are gonna miss hearing him say...... yat ah ah!!! Hit em while he weak also when he would see his nephews and male cousins he would say " NEPHEEEEW!".

He leaves to cherish his sister/cousin Tootie Strother of New Haven, CT; two brothers Richard Coleman of New Haven, CT and Issac Oliver of Hamden, CT; two sisters Debra Baker of Lawton, Oklahoma and Rochelle Green of New Haven, CT; his godmother Elouise Cody of Fredricksburg, Virginia; three aunts Regina Berryman of New Haven, CT, Mary Herring and Vivian Chapman of Stafford, Virginia; one uncle Michael Burruss of New Haven, CT; sister in law Jacquline Coleman of New Haven, CT; one stepbrother Charles Salters of East Haven, CT; one step-sister Yvonne Salters-Hammonds of West Haven, CT; two special friends Robert (Fid) Rawls and Tommy (Pee Wee) Hammond and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is predeceased by his mother Ivy Mae Coleman and one brother Keith Coleman, maternal grandparents Clara Burruss Jackson and Robert Edward Coleman, paternal grandparents Mildred Jackson and David Jackson.

He will be missed by his family, his Ashmun st. Friends that he grew up with, his Goffe street park friends, and his Dixwell Ave. friends.
