Sarah Jeanette Strother McKinney, age 91, of New Market, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021. She was a member of Jefferson City Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jenny Lynn McKinney; parents, Mr. and Mrs. I.D. Strother; in-laws, Felton and Maudie McKinney; sisters; Louise Word and Annie Lee Kemp; brothers, Leslie Strother, James Strother, Charles Strother, Robert Strother and George Strother.
She was survived by loving husband, Jim Frank McKinney, of 72 years and served as a supporting partner of his ministry for 53 years; children, Angela (Tony) Mason, Phyllis (Greg) Hoover and Durham (Kim) McKinney; grandchildren, Ryan Langley, Stephanie (Bob) Bottorff, Melissa (John) Ballinger, Seth Hoover, Sean McKinney, Shannon McKinney, Isabella McKinney, Jenilyn McKinney; great-grandchildren, Megan and Julia Ballinger, Jodie, Rhyan and Rylee McKinney, a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in the name of Sarah Jeanette Strother McKinney to the scholarship fund at Point University (formerly known as Atlanta Christian College) in West Point, GA.
The family will hold a memorial service at Jefferson City Christian Church, that will be announced at a later date. An inurnment will take place, at New Franklin Christian Church Cemetery in Canon, Georgia. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home in New Market.
