Julia Catheryn Baker, age 91, of Milton, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 9, 2021, in Milton. Julia was born on November 25, 1929 in Opp Alabama to the late Ezra and Lemma Coon Russell. In addition to her parents Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Delma Ray Baker whom she married on December 24, 1949; Two brothers, Joseph Russell and Maxwell Russell.
Julia was a loving mother and grandmother who graduated from Opp High School and was of the Christian Faith. She retired in 1986 from a career as a textile machine operator at Monsanto. Julia enjoyed sewing, quilting , crocheting and loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as “Granny”.
Julia will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery alongside her loving husband.
