Margie “Carol” Monroe, 81, of, Fayetteville passed away January 11, 2021. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Espy Hoyt and Mary Ann (Hudson) Whaley on March 29, 1939.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Calvin Monroe; daughter, Becky Monroe; and eight sisters and brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Keith) Kennedy and Tammy (Tommy) Appling; son, Clarence (Tammy) Monroe Jr.; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Carol was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very involved with her family and her church. She was a long-time member of Eastside Baptist Church and later Jonesboro First Baptist.

The family will receive friends 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Lisbon Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the church with Reverend Jeff Durham officiating. Interment will take place at Westview in Atlanta following the service.
