Mississippi, Greenville - FRANK ADDAMS ENGLAND, JR., 87, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 11 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. Mr. England was born on April 5, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana, to Eva Nair and Frank Addams England. In 1926 the family moved with their four children to Greenville to establish a Ford dealership. Mr. England attended Greenville Public Schools, was an honors graduate of Southwestern College, Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Harvard Business College before leaving to serve in World War II and the Korean War. Mr. England, who served as president of England Motor Company for over 45 years, began his career in the automobile business in 1946 working as a lubrication man in his father's dealership. Mr. England served as president, treasurer, and director of the Mississippi Automobile Dealers Association. In 1976 he was selected as the National Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year. Three years later he was elected to represent Mississippi on the National Automobile Dealers Association Board of Directors. A civic leader, Mr. England was the 1975 president of the Greenville United Fund and was the first chairman of the Greenville Industrial Foundation, established in 1960 to develop industry in the city. He was a director of the Washington County Red Cross from 1972-1975 and served as president of the organization. He also served as president of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce and the Lion's Club. As evidenced by the life he lived, Mr. England's mostimportant affiliation was with his church, First Presbyterian Church, where he faithfully served as Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher. Mr. England is preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtis Walcott England and his daughter, Dexter England Johnston. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Janet Baker England, his daughter, Jo England Parker (Bill) of Cleveland, MS; and his sons, Dr. Frank Addams England III (Rayner) of Roanoke, VA and Perry Nair England (Docia) of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Alston Johnston Pregnalato (Andrea) of Lido, Italy, Robert DeWitt Johnston of Bowling Green, KY, Kyle Hampton Johnston of Nashville, TN, Rhodes Parker Miller (Tee) of Georgetown, SC, James William Parker III (Meg) of Athens, GA, Rayner Walcott England of Durham, NC, Dexter England Meath (Peter) of Durham, NC, Frank Addams England IV (Megan) of Jacksonville, FL, Kate England Mills (Nick) of Mandeville, LA, Charles Parker England (Frankie) of Canton, MS and Maggie England Waters (Nathan) of Jackson's Gap, AL and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. in the Ladies Parlor, of the First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the F.E.E.D. program at First Presbyterian Church, One John Calvin Circle, Greenville, MS.
