Mrs. Merrell (Hildagard Mary Gauer) Hatcher, 70, of Waukegan, formerly of Morrisonville, died Sunday (July 6, 1980) in St. Therese Hospital, Waukegan. Mass of the Resurrection was Wednesday, with burial in Ascension Cemetery, Waukegan. Peterson Funeral Home, Waukegan, was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hatcher was born in Morrisonville, daughter of Otto F. and Katie Gauer. She was a member of St. Anastasia Church, Waukegan. She married Merrell Hatcher, who died in 1958. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. James (Karen) Tomasiewicz of Waukegan; Mrs. Ned (Sheila) Perri of Zion; brothers, Otto M. Gauer of St. Louis, Mo.; Dr. Lawrence S. Gauer of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Mrs. George (Mildred) Merrihew of Greenville; Mrs. Francis (Lucille) Walker of Decatur; five grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister preceded her In death.
