Deborah Ann “Debbie” Baker, 71, of State College, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Juniper Village at Brookline.

Born Sept. 5, 1949, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Gerald V. and Harriet Minsker Goss. On Jan. 22, 1972 she married Randall A. Baker, who survives. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rickey and Steven Goss.

Debbie graduated from Lewistown high school in 1967. She attended the University of Tampa, FL. Her first summer job in high school was at Jim’s Anchorage on the old Raystown Dam in Huntingdon County. She pumped gas and made hamburgers. She loved “the dam” and water skiing plus that’s where she met her then future husband, Randy. Her last job was in the maintenance department of Associated Realty Property Management in State College helping to get apartments ready for the yearly influx of Penn State students.

Debbie was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in State College and the Eastern Star. She loved her church and all the people in it. She rescued and adopted many cats over the years, enjoying them plus feeding uncountable backyard birds and squirrels. Her screened-in porch was her favorite room during most of the year.

Due to COVID, burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
