Dow Wilson Lucurell

Born January 28, 1964, he passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 19, 2018 in his sleep following a fall in his Magnolia home. He was the owner of UPTOWN ESPRESSO shops located throughout Seattle. Born in Seattle, Dow attended Queen Anne High School prior to its closing in 1981, then obtained his high school diploma from the University of Montana where he continued his college experience. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

Dow was the son of Lynn and Bob Lucurell and the brother of Drew Lucurell (Chris), all of Magnolia. He is also survived by his cousins Mike (Tevy) and Sean Dowling. An accomplished golfer, Dow played at Rainier Golf & Country Club in Seattle and O'Donnell Golf Club in Palm Springs where he was the club champion in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Dow was a wonderful companion to a generous gathering of family, high school, college and business friends. He was a very humorous and giving person, a voracious reader and an avid traveler. He will be missed by his employees and all that knew his loyalty, sincerity and honesty.

Dow participated in several philanthropic organizations including many years as a Big Brother, but his great love was youth sports. He would have appreciated any rememberances be directed to his friend, Father Jose Milian of St. Anthony's Parish, Holy Trinity Catholic School, 2315 N Cedar St., Spokane, WA 99205. Trinity School is building a new, much needed gymnasium to benefit grades K-12 and Dow supported this endeavor and Fr. Jose's efforts to fund the project. At Dow's request, there will be no services.
