Marie Driskell, age 86, of Lovelady passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born July 6, 1934 in Lovelady to parents, Claude Wesley Blakeley and Helen Marie Jackson Blakeley. Marie worked at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for many years and was the original founder of the Lovelady Assembly of God along with her husband, James “Mike” Driskell. She was a soldier for Christ.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Wyatt “Mike” Driskell; parents, Claude and Helen Blakeley; sisters, Louise Speaker, Anna Ruth McKenzie; brothers, Coy Blakeley and James Blakeley.
Graveside services for Marie Driskell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Lovelady Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Lilley officiating.
