Leo Wayne Foster
Abilene - Leo Wayne Foster, 78, Abilene, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
He was born March 12, 1942 in Emporia, KS, the son of Joseph D. Foster and Vesta (Sill) Foster. Leo grew up in Emporia and graduated from Emporia High School, Class of 1960.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Darlene Standley Crook, Bartrella Atwell, his twin sister, Chassie Lehner; and a son-in-law, Phillip Nickerson.
Leo is survived by three daughters, Sharidy (Joseph) Getsinger, Osage City, Dena (Steve) Blazier, Brookville and Lisa Nickerson, Clay Center; seven grandchildren; two very special friends, Mary Shane, Junction City and Courtney Allen, Abilene; and his precious furry companion, Susie.
Following Leo’s wishes cremation has been chosen. A memorial graveside service and Inurnment of ashes will be held at a later date at Chicago Mound Cemetery, Emporia, KS.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the memorial book on Saturday, January 16, 2020 between the hours of 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 206 West 5th Street, Chapman, KS.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Leo’s name be made to the Abilene Animal Hospital, P.A. to defray the cost of pet adoptions for families or Emmanuel Church Momentum Youth Program.
