He was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 29, 1946 the son of Albert H. and Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Sommers) Debacker Sr. He attended St. Joseph and Assumption grade schools and was a 1964 graduate of Hayden High School. He attended the seminary for a short time.
Albert worked for the University of Kansas in the Printing division. He retired from the State of Kansas Division of Printing as a Bindery Foreman.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, landscaping, and enjoying nature. He was a man who put faith, family and friends first. He was a member of St. Joseph/Sacred Heart Catholic Church and did Perpetual Adoration at the church. Albert was an avid reader especially books about nature and enjoyed his weekly meeting of friends at Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
He married August 3, 2015. She survives. He is also survived by his son, step sons, four step grandchildren and his siblings, and a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Betty, a brother, James Debacker and a step-son, Brandon Hamilton.
Albert was cremated. A private Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by his immediate family. Inurnment will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Meriden, Kansas. At a later date he will be remembered in another Mass for friends and family when it is safer for others to attend and will be announced at that time.
