James Harold “Jim” Thames, Jr., age 76, of Crockett, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his home. Jim was born on July 18, 1944 in Jacksonville to James Harold Thames, Sr. and Minnie Ruth Todd Thames. He was an active member and past Master of Lothrop Masonic Lodge #21 AF&AM and was also a member of the Grapeland Lodge #473 AF&AM. Jim taught stained glass classes and was a member of the First Christian Church. He was a master jeweler and watch repairman for 45 years and he and his wife Kathy, were owners of Thames Jewelry Store on the square in Crockett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minnie Ruth Thames; brother, Roy Glenn Thames.
Memorial services for James Harold “Jim” Thames, Jr., will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the First Christian Church with Dr. Tim Allen officiating.
