Ronas William “RW” Bass, 93, passed away September 11, 2012.
He was born May 30, 1919 in Florence, SC. His parents were the late Jeptha James and Sarah Lula Coble Bass, Sr.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Newton Bass, Thornwell Leo Bass , J. J. Bass, Jr and Jennings Brian Bass; two sisters, Rosa Melton and Annie Dula and two grandsons, John Bass, Jr. and Michael Bass, Jr.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Mr. Bass served on the church council, SS Treasurer, an assistant Boy Scout Master. He was retired from Drexel Heritage. He also was a veteran of World War ll in four major campaigns.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Bernice Redmon Bass of the home; daughter of Conover; sons, 1 of Orlando, FL, 1 of Hickory and 1 of Newton; grandchildren,1 of Conover, 1 of Union Mills, 1 of Conover, 1 of High point, 1 of Hiddenite, 1 of Conover, 1 of Hickory, 1 of Hickory, 1 of Newton, 1 of Newton, 1 of Newton, 1 of Newton and 1 of Hickory, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, a number of nieces and nephews and a sister of Morganton.
