The Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indiana, Sunday, November 23, 1997: FREDERIC A. RANSOM, 83. Indianapolis, died Nov. 20. He was an administrator 42 years for Lockefleld Gardens and Indianapolis Senior Housing. He was also a bartender at Rainbow Bar and Grill and the Indianapolis Athletic Club. A 1935 graduate of Talladega (Ala.) College, he was president of the Indiana chapter of the school's alumni association. He was a life member of the NAACP and a member of Fox Lake Homeowners Association and Crispus Attucks Athletic Alumni Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Services: 1 p.m. Nov. 25 in Bethel AME Church, of which he was a member. Calling: 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 24 In Stuart Mortuary Chapel. Entombment: Washington Park Cemetery, North Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Survivors: wife Gloria Walker Ransom; children Dr. Frederic G., Janet Ransom, LaMont Rhem, Frances Elaine Ransom Parker. Brenda Joyce Campbell, Sharon Y. Chisolm; brother Robert E. Ransom; sister A'Lelia E. Nelson; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.


His parents were Nettie Cox and Freeman Ransom.
