Rev. Billy Joe Walker, 88, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at his residence in Salisbury.
He was born August 12, 1932, in Caldwell County, NC to the late Ellen Eckerd.
He graduated from Pilgrim Bible College. Rev. Walker was a pastor and was an Evangelist spreading the Gospel all over America. He enjoyed spending time in his garden. He was an avid student of the Bible. He enjoyed spending time with family. He loved Vanilla ice cream. He was a member of Salisbury Bible Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, Billy was preceded in death by his first wife Anna Walker, and his son in law Darrell Joslin.
Billy is survived by his wife, Margaret Jean Walker: Five Daughters, Jo (Craig) Dahler, Gaye (Jim) Beck, Monica (Mark) Mimier, Joy Walker, and Sherry Joslin; Two Sons, Brent (Vicki) Walker, Mike (Jenn) Walker; Two Step Daughters, Pamela (Mark) Coleman, Sara (Patrick) Allred; Three Step Sons, Mike (Friend Karen) Parker, Dean (Linda) Parker and Mark Parker. He is also survived by brother Charles Eckerd and sisters Shirley Eckerd and Judy Eckerd.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday, January 7, 2021, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Salisbury Bible Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021, in the Salisbury Bible Methodist Church. Burial will take place in the Salisbury Bible Methodist Church Cemetery following the service. Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell, honored provider of Veterans Funeral Care, is assisting the Walker family.
