SP4 US Army
SN US Navy
PFC US Army
Korea, Vietnam
July 26, 1925* ~ October 22, 2008
-------------------------
The following death notice was first published in the Appeal Democrat on October 24, 2008:
John Charles Kloberdanz, 81, of Yuba City, California, passed away on October 22, 2008. Private Cremation Services were under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel of Yuba City, California.
--------------------------
He was the husband of Josephine M. Kloberdanz and, after her death in December 2020, they were laid to rest together at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, in recognition and gratitude for his years of service in the US Army and US Navy, during the wars in Korea and Vietnam.
--------------------------
*NOTE: All records beside his National Gravesite Locator say he was born July 26, 1927, not 1925. According to Findagrave guidelines, this memorial is consistent with the stone and the cemetery record, but all indications are that there was an error in his record here, probably at the last reenlistment, and that 1925 is likely correct. Family researcher Janice Samuelson, Contributor #47569245, has confirmations of other legal documents saying 1927.
[It was not uncommon after the attack on Pearl Harbor for boys to lie about their age to be accepted in military service, thus giving the VA database false data.}
