Reflecting A Well-Lived Life…

Kimberly Yvette Lewis Evans was born on March 7, 1964 in Lake Charles, LA to John Charles and Rosalie H. Lewis, Sr. Kimberly was affectionately known as “Kim” by her family and friends.

Kim accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Sunlight Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Victor Washington. She later joined Bethel Metropolitan Baptist Fellowship Church under the leadership of Reverend Jerry L. Franklin, and later Reverend Clyde Lewis. Kim sung in the choir and was a dedicated member.

She was a 1982 graduate of Marion High School and was a proud supporter of Washington-Marion High School. She took business classes at Sowela Technical Community College and McNeese State University. On, January 11, 1986 she entered holy matrimony with Christopher Evans and was married for 34 years.

Kim worked 20+ years at the United States Postal Service. She was a member of the Zeta Amicae and she held several positions on local and regional levels and a member of Top Ladies of Distinction, Lake Charles Chapter. She was very active with her graduating class. She was a member of Krewe Chetu Jadi and enjoyed inviting family and friends to celebrate at their annual ball. Kim was the life of the gathering. She met with cousins for their “Girls Night Out” gatherings and oh what a time they would have. Kim also chaired and co-chaired the Graham Family Reunion.

Kim enjoyed life spending time with or talking on the telephone to her family and close friends. She was a great cook, and always cooked enough for her brothers and Uncle Clyde to eat. Her contagious smile and laugh graced all that she met. You were no longer a stranger once she met you. Her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends’ kids all loved her. We would not call them spoil, just highly loved.

As the world knows, Kim would tell the world her brother, Lyle was her “Ride or Die”.

Kim entered paradise along her husband, Chris Evans, and parents, John Charles and Rosalie H. Lewis, Sr.

She leaves to embrace her precious memories: four loving brothers, John Charles (Janet) Lewis, Jr., Gerald Craig (Joannie) Lewis, Sr., Ronald Keith Lewis, and Arnold Lyle (Monique) Lewis, Sr., all of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Johnathan Jermaine Bargeman and granddaughter, Jemeriah Alay Bargeman, of Lake Charles, LA; brothers-in-law, Freeman (Zania) Evans, Cape Coral, Fl., David (Sherry) Evans, San Antonio, TX, Craig “Ali” (Leatitia Porter), Lake Charles, LA; and sister-in-law Monica Evans, of Lake Charles, LA,; four uncles, Albert (Elizabeth) Lewis, Oakland, CA, Joe, Sr. (Audrey) Lewis, Eldridge (Lula) Handy, of Lake Charles, and Larry (Cynthia) Handy, Houston, TX; two aunts Dora Harbor, and Connie Ardoin of Lake Charles, LA; godchildren, Ebony Lewis-Broussard, Sean Michael Lewis, and Jenna Rose Lewis; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
