Ashlynn Nicole Blacklaw, 6, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 7 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday following visitation with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Graveside services will be in Galloway Cemetery in Fall River Township.

Ashlynn was born June 3, 2014, in Peoria, to Nicholas David and Michelle Renee (Anderson) Blacklaw.

She attended Grand Ridge Grade School. Ashlynn enjoyed racing dirt bikes, dancing, and music. She was active in IVGA Gymnastics in Ottawa.

To know Ashlynn is to love her. She had a huge personality for such a tiny, little girl. She was enthusiastic and smart. She could be a force when she set her mind to something. She was an adventurer, who loved to be out in nature and walking barefoot. She enjoyed listening, dancing, and singing to her favorite songs. Spending time with her family and friends always made her the happiest. She lived on her electric scooter. She loved meeting every princess at Disney and swimming, whether it was at the pool or beach. She was the happiest of little girls with the most contagious smile and giggle.

She is survived by her parents: Nick and Michelle Blacklaw; a sibling: Addie Blacklaw; grandparents: Dave and Tammy Blacklaw of Marseilles and Gary and Barb Anderson of Ottawa; great-grandparents: Marilyn Barton, Marlene Blacklaw, and Bill and Jeanette Leslie; aunts and uncles: Brad and Nina Anderson, Eric and Jenny Hackler, and Joel Blacklaw; cousins: Gavin, Jaden, and Ava Anderson, Ainsely Hackler, and Lincoln Blacklaw; and several great-aunts and uncles.

Ashlynn was preceded in death by great-grandparents: Gerald Blacklaw and Sharon and Howard Farrell.
