John F. Betsworth, 72, 1220 Wall street, died Tuesday evening in a hospital. Born in Maryland, December 7, 1871, he came with his parents to LeMars, Ia., at the age of 9 years. He lived there until 35 years ago, moving then to Sioux City. He had been employed as a concrete worker. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Anderson chapel with the Rev. R. D. Atcheson officiating. Burial will be in the Kingsley, Ia., cemetery. Surviving are two sons, John and Elmer Betsworth, both of Sioux City; a daughter, Mrs. Daisy Whitlock and a brother, Charles, all of Sioux City. The body was taken to the Anderson funeral home.
