Yvette M. Chretien Edwards, 55, was born July 10, 1965 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Peter and Olena Stevens Chretien. A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, she was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a 1983 graduate of Washington High School. Yvette was a licensed cosmetologist and also worked as a billing specialist in the medical field. She departed this life Monday, December 21, 2020 at 9:20PM in a New Orleans hospital. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 33 years, Ernest Edwards; three daughters, Meghan Patrice, Moriah Nicole, and Tanika Edwards; three sons, Carlmon M'Crae Edwards, Jamie (Pam) Hall, and Lamar Trahan; four sisters, Veronica (Joseph "Boobie") Bilbo, Janet (John) Lewis, Patricia (Chester) Daigle, and Antoinette (Leo Sr.) Colquitt; four brothers, Christopher (Velvet), Ervin, Verlin, and Nathaniel (Barbara) Chretien; seven grandchildren, Jaylon, Ma'Layesha, Ma'Kylah, Jylen, and Jiyah Edwards, Dramon Edwards Jr., and MaKycen Stevens; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Olena Chretien; and five brothers, Merculus, Earl, Alfred, Frank, and Leonard Chretien. Her funeral will be 11AM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
