Unnamed Infant of Rose Ima Guinn Gill and Newton Silas Gill. Rose had been out painting that day and went into labor prematurely. This baby girl was born too premature to live and passed away at birth. She was brought home by her parents wrapped in a blanket. They placed her little body in the family's china cabinet until they could bury her. Her dad made a little wooden casket for her that was about the size of a cigar box. Then he, his brother Cook, and son Wendall went that night to Preachersville Cemetery and climbed over the fence and buried her in the cemetery. This family was not wealthy and did not have the means to pay for the burial of their daughter. This history was told to me by my dad, Wendall Gill ,who was present during the events related here.
