Killed in service when the bomber crashed into the western face of Buckhorn Mountain, Giles County, Virginia, during a heavy snowfall while on a ferrying flight from Smyrna, Tennessee to Montreal, Quebec. Wreck site was spotted by a civilian pilot on April 22, 1943.
