Obituary:
Clarence H. Rhodes, of the contracting and building firm of Hanawalt, Green & Rhodes, who are building the State road between Neffsville and Miller’s Mill, Manheim township, died yesterday morning at the home of Frank Kreider, near Shreiner’s Corner, on the road leading from Neffsville to Petersburg. His death occurred at the place he had been boarding at while engaged in making the State road. Heart trouble, coupled with exposure, caused death. He had been ailing several days. His wife was at his bedside when death ensued and during the period of his illness. Mr. Rhodes had resided at Altoona. He was a member of the M.E. church of Altoona and of Hollidaysburg Lodge, F. & A.M. Mr. Rhodes also belonged to higher Masonic bodies at Williamsport having been a thirty-third degree Mason. Beside his wife, these children survive: Mrs. Lisle J. DeHutt, of Philadelphia; Charles W. Rhodes, of Altoona; George A. Rhodes, of Shawnee, Okla.; Mrs. J.E. Elway, of Altoona; Isaac C. Rhodes, of Altoona. These brothers also survive: Blair B. Rhodes, Martin L. Rhodes and Fred. G. Rhodes, all of Hollidaysburg. Deceased was born in Frankstown township, Blair county, where he resided until fifteen years ago, when he moved to Altoona. He was in his fifty-first year. Undertaker Groff took charge of the remains and they will be shipped this morning on the 10:35 train to Altoona. Funeral services will be held on Friday and interment will be at Hollidaysburg.
