Avid reader enjoyed Bible studies
Mary Jo (Eifert) Kinney Romig, 70, of Benton died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at her home. She had been in ill health since March.
Born Feb. 16, 1950, in Bloomsburg, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur John Eifert and Nora Kathleen (Leiby) Eifert. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: James Ross Kinney, on May 1, 1995, and David L. Romig, on Feb. 16, 2004.
Mary Jo attended Bloomsburg High School and had worked as a nurse’s aide at Bloomsburg Health Care Center for 10 years. She also served as a volunteer for the Bloomsburg Women’s Center.
An avid reader, she enjoyed doing Bible studies and spending time on her back porch with her dogs. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Everyone who met her loved her and appreciated her faith and her love for people.
She will be greatly missed by her only daughter, Brenda K. Kinney and her companion, Allen Hunsinger; two grandchildren: Anthony J. Kinney and his girlfriend, Kari Williams, Cheyenne S. Kinney and her fiancé, Matthew Baez; three sisters: Ethel Strausser of Bloomsburg, Gloria Kester and her husband, Ted, of Lime Ridge, and Kay Weaver of Danville.
Along with her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Joan Shymanski and Fay Young; a half sister, Erma Snyder; two half brothers: John Eifert and Alvin Lindenmuth, and by a baby brother in infancy.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at 2 p.m., at the Raven Creek Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Delp officiating.
