Larry L. Johnston, 76, of Streator passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
There will be no funeral services. Cremation rites will be accorded. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born May 1, 1944 in Streator he was the son of Homer and Frances (Shunk) Johnston. He married Patricia A. Bruns on August 28, 1964 in Streator.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia “Pat” Johnston of Streator; a daughter: Tracie Vietti of Streator; grandchildren: Jennifer Hays of Streator, Trisha Johnston of Green Bay, WI, and Izabella Vietti of Streator; great-grandchildren: Connor Akin, Eden Barton and Bryce Barton.; a sister: Donna Ruberstell of Streator; and his beloved dog: Oakley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Randall Johnston; sisters: Betty Jo Ross and Pat Palaschak; and a brother: Jack Johnston.
Born and raised in Streator he attended local grade schools and Streator High School.
He worked for many years for the Streator Dependable until his retirement.
He was a member of the Marshall County Sportsmen’s Club. He was also very active through the years coaching youth baseball and softball.
