Don was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, June (Excell) Hayes; his parents, Donald E. and Beatrice Hayes and his daughter, Teresa McLean.
He is survived by his daughters; son -in-law; sisters; brothers; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and close friends.
Donald was a graduate of Greene Central School class of 1951. He entered the Air Force in 1952. When he returned from Japan, he married June in 1955. He worked as a mechanic on the trucks at his father's garage for several years before getting a job at NY Telephone and was there until his retirement in 1990. Donald and June became snowbirds spending half of his retirement years in Spring Hill, Fl.
