Shirley Kay Austin Welch, 69, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020, at Annie Penn Hospital.
A Rockingham County native, Shirley was born on June 29, 1951, to the late George and Gerlie White Austin.
She was a strong faithful Christian woman. She loved her family, her pets, and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Allen Welch and her brother, Larry Austin.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Clifford Welch of the home; her daughter, Rhonda Gay W. Throckmorton (Roy) of Madison; her son, Gary Clifford Welch of the home; her grandchildren, Stacey Welch and Katie Welch; and six great-grandchildren.
A 2:00 p.m. graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Community Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Brightwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Ray Funeral Home. Ray Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Shirley Welch.
