A Bardstown resident, Mrs. Mary Judith “Judy” Jones age 80, passed away December 20, 2020 at the Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. She was born on June 14, 1940 to the late Joseph Bernard and Mary Marguerite Newton Sweeney. Judy was a former employee of Butte Knit Manufacturing, Howard Johnson Hotel as head of housekeeping then owned her own cleaning service until 1995 and loved to show Quarter Horses. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church but was attending St. Thomas Catholic Church. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Jones, a son, Robert Allen Downs, 3 brothers, Joseph Lee Sweeney, James Bernard Sweeney, Paul Curtis Sweeney. Judy is survived by 3 sons, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, along with 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Judith “Judy” Jones will be private.
