He died at in Josephine Sunset Home, Stanwood. Dan was born April 19, 1933 in Ware, MA to Daniel E. and Ruth (Kelly) Johnson. The family moved from Evansville, IN in 1942 to Marysville (Sunnyside) where he was part of the class of 1952 and has been a resident of Snohomish county ever since. He joined the Navy and spent 3 proud years in the service between the USS Delta and the USS Hancock during the Korean War.
He was a member of the IUOE, local 302 for 50+ years. He was also a past member of Marysville Moose Lodge. A life-long sports enthusiast, he was a boxing coach at the Marysville YMCA in the late 60's and early 70's. He was married to Helen Hill (1953-54), Pauline Pyatte (1956-1972), Sharon Carlson Black (1972-1973) and Barbara Hein, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage last Feb.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen, sister Eileen, and niece Terry (1954), daughter Sheri (1987), brothers Bob, (1975), and Dick, (2012).
Graveside services will be held at Cypress Lawn cemetery in Everett on Monday, December 28th at 10 AM.
