Do I really know if Tempie is buried here? No. On the 1880 census she was living with her son in Jefferson Co. and she has to be someplace, so why not here? Also, her sister Mary Ann McGuire Bryan should also be in this cemetery.

Tempie was first married to John W. Carpenter about 1829 in Bedford Co, TN. Their children were
1. Melea (Melia) Ann Carpenter Bryan. She married her 1st cousin Thomas W. Bryan, son of Nathaniel G. Bryan and Mary Ann McGuire Bryan. Both buried in Jefferson Co., IL.

2. Thomas Benjamin Carpenter. He married Rutha Fields. They divorced Aug. 1867 after she had remarried. There is a newspaper article at his findagrave. His second wife was Nicey Belle Sharp, who was his 1st cousin, Nov. 20, 1868 in Bedford Co., TN. She was the daughter of William Sharp and Sarah McGuire. Both buried in Maury Co. TN.

3. Noah Lee Carpenter married Elizabeth Frazier Clink (a widow with kids) on Sept. 4, 1859 in Jefferson Co., IL. In 1880 they are in Freeborn Co., MN. In the 1900 and 1910 census they are found in Rollet Co., N.D. Noah died in Lac Qui Parle Co., MN and is buried there.

4. John Carpenter - have no idea what happened to him.

5. Temperance Emaline Carpenter Haggard - She married Samuel W. Haggard abt 1857 in TN.
Emaline can be found on the 1850 Marion Co., IL census with her Carpenter siblings. The household above on the page is her mom, now remarried, Temperance Harmon. Emaline lived in Texas and is buried in Denton Co.

6. Catherine Elizabeth "Betsy" Carpenter Haggard - This is not 100 % confirmed, but I believe Betsy was married to Wesley W. Tindell between 1860 - 1864 in TN. They were in TN. until the 1880 census. After 1900 almost all the kids are in TX, so it looks like the family moved between 1880 - 1900. So far I haven't been able to find her or a death record.

After Tempie became widowed she went back to Bedford Co., TN and between 1842 - 1844 married Elisha Harmon. In the 1850 census the family is back in Marion Co., IL. The Harmon's, in 1860 and 1870, are back in Bedford Co., TN. By 1880, yes, another move, they are living with their son Richard in Jefferson Co., IL. Tempie is now 70 and I kinda think she stayed put and it seems like parent/s living with one of their kids either lived with his/her oldest child, or the more commonly, the youngest. Richard was the youngest.
In the 1860 Bedford Co. TN census the name Harmon has been transcribed as CARMEN. lol It's only funny after ya find them.
Tempie and Elisha Harmon's children

1. William Washington Harmon was b. in TN (probably Bedford Co.) and on Aug. 14, 1870 he married Elizabeth Jane Carpenter (yep, same Carpenter family as Melea Carpenter Bryan, cousins) in Jefferson Co., IL. William died in Marion Co., IL in 1896.

2. Rufus Louis Harmon - Can't find him after the 1860 census. Deceased, not on any census or the name always gets transcribed wrong. Thinkin' deceased.

3. Leonidus? Harmon - again, can't find him. He is only on the 1860 census, age 10. He was probably born after the 1850 and is gone by the 1870. Deceased?

4. Richard Lee Harmon was born in TN and on Nov. 13, 1879 he married Sarah Elizabeth Hawkins in Jefferson Co., IL. died Jefferson Co., IL and is buried in Marion Co., IL
