Randall Dean Shelton, 90, of Beach Park, IL, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2020.

Randall was born August 20, 1930 in Red Bay, AL to JG and Cora (nee Jackson) Shelton. He married Heather Josephine Thayer on September 5, 1951 in Clifton, CO. Shortly after their marriage Randall went to serve his country with the United States Army, stationed in Germany. He went on to work for and retire from Johns Manville after more than 45 years. Randall was a member of Meadowridge Baptist Church. Randall enjoyed fishing in Wisconsin with friends, gardening and doing yard work. He also enjoyed traveling, making it to all but one of the states.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Heather Jo; children, Linda (Michael) Thompson, Randall S. Shelton, and Nancy Shelton; granddaughters, Melissa (Tom) Edwards, and Melanie Thompson; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Sam, Tyler, and Wyatt; brother, Curtis (Sarah) Shelton; sister, Mary Faye Olmstead; sister in laws Shirley Shelton and Thelma Shelton and many nieces, nephews, and other family members too numerous to list.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Clara, Ray, Maynard (Helen), Roland (Bobbi), James Jr., and Geneva Rowland, and brother in law Ned Olmstead.

Randall will be laid to rest in a private family service at Pineview Memorial Park. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
