St George - Shawna Lee Smith, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in Las Vegas, due to a head injury. She was born August 16, 1949 in Pocatello, ID, to Dale Lee and Jayne Hatch Lee. Shawna married James Marshall. Together they raised three children. They were later divorced. Shawna later married Tom Smith. For the past 10 years, Shawna had made St. George her home. She continued her career in cosmetology and also worked part time at Costco. She was the happiest in the mountains. She enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, fishing, hiking, golfing, boating, snow skiing and gardening. Basically, anything to do with the outdoors. She had a great love for animals. She would take in any animal that was in need of help. Shara, her poodle was her closest and dearest animal companion whom always held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her three children, Lamar J. Marshall of Bountiful; Heidi Nelson of St. George; and T.J. Marshall of Syracuse. She is also survived by one sister, Janette Ward of Idaho Falls, ID; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. A graveside service will be held on September 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at the Bountiful Memorial Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful.
