Marie was born August 12, 1918, to Lottie Bills and David King in Moore, Idaho.
She married Eugene Jenks on June 28, 1939, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Marie and her husband and family lived about 20 years in the Heyburn-Paul area and then moved to Jerome where they lived until January of 1999, when they moved to Boise. Marie has spent the last seven years in the Valley Care Nursing Home.
Marie loved people. Children were especially dear to her. Her whole life was devoted to serving others. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, and she received a lot of satisfaction decorating beautiful birthday and wedding cakes. She held many positions of service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Young Women President, Relief Society President and primary teacher. Marie also worked a number of years as a CNA.
She is survived by two sons: David, of Boise and Verdon (Faith) of Twin Falls, two daughters: Linda (Neil) Knudsen of Idaho Falls and Joleta Jenks of Jerome; 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, her parents, David and Lottie King; a daughter, Lanita Jenks; a brother, Daniel King, and a grandson, Carter Knudsen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at the LDS chapel, 825 East Ave. B, Jerome, Idaho with Bishop Mike Dixon officiating. The family will visit with friends and family from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday prior to the service.
