VIETNAM, PERSIAN GULF
Francis Daniel Bieker, LtCol USAF (Ret)
Francis was born on July 30, 1947 in Hays, Kansas. He was the oldest of 9 kids.
On August 2, 1969, he married his high school sweetheart, Sheila (Wiesner) Bieker. Fran and Sheila had 4 kids.
Fran started his career as a High School Math and Physics Teacher.
He joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served over 21 years as a Meteorologist. His career took the entire family overseas to Germany and Panama, as well as in Kansas, Nebraska and Illinois.
He retired in 1995 as a Lieutenant Colonel. After he retired, he worked as a Civilian and then Contractor for the Air Force continuing his career to Air Force Weather. He then joined his son Tony Bieker as an Insurance Adjustor. Once retired, he and Sheila traveled south in the winters to Corpus Christi TX where they enjoyed the sunny skies and warm Gulf Ocean breezes. More importantly, Fran could spend those winters fishing and catching Pompano in the Gulf!
Fran loved life, especially fishing, boating, dancing, golfing and spending time with family. His grandkids meant the world to him, and he enjoyed teaching them to fish, doing building workshops with them at Lowe’s/Home Depot, and reading them books in their younger years.
