Stuart Lee Rex Scott, age 60, departed this life on March 21, 2018, to be with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on November 29, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama. Stuart attended Mountain Brook High School where he played on the football team that won the 1975 State Championship. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1980 and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Stuart started his career at Protective Life Insurance Company and later became vice president of Sun Life Insurance Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove where he was a deacon and taught Sunday school to high school and college students for over 30 years. The one thing that people say over and over about Stuart is that he was the kindest man they knew. He was an ardent fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and loved all sports.

Stuart was especially devoted to his niece, Lindsay Scott Coker and her children MacKenzey, Savannah, and Scotty; and his nephew Romaine S. Scott IV, his wife Crystal, and their children Kingston, Holland, and Loxley, with whom he spent many happy times.

Stuart was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Scott; his father, Romaine S. Scott Jr.; and a brother, Romaine S. Scott III. He is survived by his stepmother, Sally Scott (Mrs. Romaine S. Scott Jr.); his brother, Clark Scott (Josie); his niece and nephew, Lindsay and Romaine (Crystal) and their children; and his sister-in-law, Rita Heidorn Scott (Mrs. Romaine S. Scott III).

Stuart leaves behind his devoted friends Ronald Patterson and Pam Travis, as well as many relatives and other special friends whom he loved and respected dearly.

Funeral service will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, with Rev. Daniel Wilson and Rev. Bill Sears officiating, on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11 am, followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ridout's Valley Chapel from 10 am to 11 am before the service.
