... and Ida Mae Thomas became the proud parents of Rosalind Yvette Thomas, also affectionately known as “Cookie”, on December 13. 1966. She accepted Christ at an early age, in Austin, Texas. Cookie loved her family far and near and always looked forward to family gatherings.

At the age of 3 Cookie and her family moved to Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from Northwest High School. She attended Langston University before moving back to Austin with her parents in 1989. Cookie loved being surrounded by family, sharing laughs and good times. She could always be counted on to be the last to show up to any event but always there none the less. She was so very proud of the greatest gifts God could ever grant; her three daughters. Each one brought her extraordinary joy and gave her a sense of purpose as she cared and nurtured them throughout her life.

God blessed Cookie with her devoted husband. They were joined together in holy matrimony on June 27, 2009. They were a team with plans to live, love, and enjoy life. But God had other plans as He called Cookie to join him on January 24, 2014. ... was by her side through the good times and through the difficult times. They were devoted parents to the girls and they never allowed her illness disrupt their lives. She fought to the end, but also with the peace of knowing that God was in control.

Cookie leaves in God’s care her loving husband, her daughters, her father, and her brother all of Austin, Texas. Cookie was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Mae Thomas and her brother Howard Thomas Jr. She leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends that will forever remember her loving smile, her sincere friendship and her heartfelt kindness.
