JW Goodin, age 79, of Bryson, Texas, formerly of Archer City, passed away December 14, 2020 in Bryson.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, in the Archer City Cemetery with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church of Archer City, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
JW was born August 30, 1941 in Kilgore, Texas to the late William Thomas Goodin and Mattie Belle Goodin.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from November 1, 1962 until October 31, 1966.
JW married Phillis Jean Freeze on October 26, 1976 in Archer City. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2009.
JW was employed for several years in the oilfield for many companies including Megargel Drilling Company. He then went back cross country truck driving.
JW was a master craftsman in wood working and a mechanic who could fix any motor.
Survivors include one son, Rob Goodin and wife, Krystal and their children, Brittney, Katelynn and Harley of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Tabitha Jean Thomas and husband, Grant of Alvin and their children, Nikole Hensley of Mineral Wells, Khloe Jean Thomas and James Dean Thomas of Alvin and Paulette Ysasi and husband, Rikk of San Marcos; grandsons, Robert Goodin and wife, Ky of Jerymn, Terry Jeff Goodin and wife, Tanna of Bryson, and David Goodin and wife, Rachel of Watauga; two sisters, Rener Fetting and husband, John of Sulphur Springs, and Bunnye Everett and husband, Bob of Wichita Falls; brother-in-law, Bill Hall of Bryson; long-time companion, Alice Blanco of Archer City; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Solaris Hospice 509 Elm Street, Graham, Texas 76450.
