Mr. John L. Goodin, 76, of Kilgore completed his earthly journey at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 12, 2017, following a long battle with lung cancer.
John was born on August 1, 1940 in Kilgore to William Thomas and Mattie Belle Goodin. He graduated from Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore College. John worked in the oil & gas industry for 52 years and he retired from Baker-Hughes Company in 2011. He attended Highland Park Baptist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason with the Danville #101 AF&AM Lodge of Kilgore. He loved to fish and work in the yard. John loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. His family was the source of his strength and spending time with them was when he was happiest.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Carolyn Milton and Jo Cooper.
