Katherine “Kay” Frances Roberts of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born in Covington, Virginia on December 21, 1934 to the late Mabel Fischer Lipes and John William Lipes, Jr.
Kay retired from Comdial after many years of hard work; she also worked for Stonehenge Neighborhood Association and she raised three sons and one daughter while her husband George served in the military for more than twenty years. She was known as a very nice person and was a great mom and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband George R. Roberts, Jr of 62 years; one son George Lawrence “Larry” Roberts, one sweet sister Sylvia Lorraine Phillips, three brother-in-laws Ralph Douglas Roberts, Ronald Elwood Roberts Sr. and Raymond Phillips.
She is survived by two sons, John Raymond Roberts and his wife Linda Emerling Roberts, Michael William Roberts and his wife Litsa Smith Roberts and one daughter Catherine Roberts Easter and her husband Gary Wayne Easter. She is also survived by one sister-in-law Nancy Cason Roberts. She has many grandchildren, John Thomas Roberts and his wife Charlotte Marrs Roberts, Shanna Roberts Morris and her husband Phillip Morris, Adam Joshua Wayne Easter and his wife Samantha LiBrandi Easter, Carter Neal Easter and his wife Hanna Carag Easter, Brandie Roberts Sullivan and her husband Kevin Dewayne Sullivan, Kalie Michael Roberts and Tyler Zimmerman, Samantha Ashley Bray and daughter-in-law Ruth Bray. She had twelve great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She was well loved and will surely be missed.
A memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
