Thomas Dean (Tom) Crawford entered into eternal life on December 12, 2020.

Tom was born October 2, 1935, in Amboy, Indiana, to Thomas E. (Jack) and Dorotha (nee Pence) Crawford.

He graduated from Swayzee High School in Swayzee, Indiana. He attended Purdue University, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Education. Upon graduation from Purdue, Tom entered the U.S. Army serving as a 1st Lieutenant with the transportation corps in Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Tom and Martha (nee Coplen) were married June 16, 1957 in Warsaw, Indiana. They had a blessed life together and enjoyed every day of a wonderful marriage.

When Tom was discharged from the Army in 1959, he joined Monsanto Company. His time with Monsanto took him to Syracuse, New York, Saint Louis, Missouri, and Arlington, Texas. Tom retired from Monsanto in 1985.

After his retirement, he became a motivational speaker for the next several years. He was president of the Texas Agricultural Chemical Association and the Forth Worth Farm and Ranch Club. He also served as a lobbyist for Monsanto at the Texas legislature. In 1988, he received his commercial real estate license. He continued to work in commercial real estate until 2020. In his commercial real estate career, he founded Commercial Investment Brokers (CIB).

Tom and Martha relocated to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas, in 1998. He was very active in the community and city of Georgetown. Due to his leadership skills, he served as president of many organizations and city committees. Tom was an avid fisherman and early president of the Sun City Hunting and Fishing Club - always sure that his favorite "Sammie" lure would catch the big one. He was a personal and spiritual mentor to many, a great encourager, and a good friend who was always willing to help in whatever way he could.

Tom loved and enjoyed his family immensely and hardly ever missed an extra-curricular activity of his grandchildren. We will always remember his proud smile beaming from the stands.

Tom is a member of the Worship Place in Sun City. In a previous church he served as a Sunday School teacher, was a Bible Study Fellowship discussion leader, and a Community Bible Study teaching director.

Tom is survived by his wife Martha, two sons, Jay (Jeannine) of Mebane, North Carolina, and Chris (Kaye) of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren Angie (Brett) Nabors of Austin, Texas, Claire (Erick) Singh, of Lexington, South Carolina, Kellye (Brandon) Palmer of Charleston, South Carolina, Zach Crawford of Austin, Texas, Noah Crawford, of Austin, Texas, and four great grandchildren, Rowe, Cade, Eli, and Avery. Additionally, he has a surviving sister, Jean Redman, and three nephews, all of California.

He was predeceased by his parents and great granddaughter Kaylin.

Memorial donations may be made to The Worship Place, Georgetown, Texas.

A private service is planned at the Central Texas VA Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. A public celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date.
