Apple Way Crash

While rushing to Spokane with 16-year-old Frank Crane, Valleyford, who had just been burned in an auto fire, G. W. Siegel, Freeman, was in a collision with a car driven by Howard Beeson, 23, on Apple way. Beeson and his wife, Wanda, 23, were cut and bruised in the crash.

A second driver took young Crane and his father from the wrecked Siegel car and, escorted by motorcycle police, hurried them to Sacred Heart hospital. Crane was reported recovering today by hospital authorities.

CRANE, BURNED BY CAR, SUCCUMBS IN HOSPITAL.

Frank Crane, 15, Route 1, Valleyford, died this morning at the Sacred Heart hospital as the result of burns sustained Sunday when he tried to extinguish a fire in the family automobile.

Young Crane had just driven the car out of the garage of the family home when it caught fire. He attempted to beat out the flames. His clothing was burned off and his entire body covered with burns.

As he was being rushed to the hospital in the car of G. W. Siegel, Freeman, the machine was involved in a collision with the automobile of Howard Beeson, 23, Valley resident. Crane apparently was not hurt in the car accident. He was taken into a car by another driver and hurried to the hospital. He was the son of George M. Crane.
