She was the oldest of six siblings. She had an inherent desire to care for her family. Betty graduated from North Whitfield High School in 1959. Later that year she married the love of her life, Herman Stanley and they shared a long, faithful marriage for fifty-five years until his death on January 11, 2015.
After many years of sharing her love and wisdom, Betty retired from Whitfield County, Schools in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Tony and Suzanna Stanley and Rhonda Stanley; grandchildren, Rhett and Caroline Stanley; she is also survived by honorary grandchildren, Tyson and Olivia Russell and Anna Clark; brothers and sisters by blood and marriage are, Bobby and Charlene Sisson, Charles and Kat Sisson, Brenda Sisson, Carolyn Patterson, and Betty Pippin; special aunt, Sue Goss and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brothers and sister-in-law, Gary Sisson, Johnny and Frankie Sisson, an infant sister, Barbara Jean Sisson and her step-mother, Jessie Sisson.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Louise Sisson Stanley will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 o’clock p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Minister Ross Jordan and Reverend Dennis Chasteen officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with her family and close friends serving as pallbearers.
